The Journey

Today has been a difficult one for me emotionally and mentally. This past week, I've learned quite a bit more about myself, what makes me "tick". And there's lots more work to be done. After all, I'm just a work in progress. If you've ever been in a situation where you felt professional help (therapist, counselor, psychiatrist, etc.) might be the best way through issues, I encourage you to seek that help.

I have recently learned there are still people out there, my age, younger, and older, who believe that seeking therapy or even the actions leading up to it means a person is "mental" or "psycho". This is sad to me, uncaring, and truly not compassionate for a fellow human being.

The thing is, we're all on our own path that God set forth for us. Sure, God gave us free will, so we have choices every moment of our existence. One thing I have to remind myself, especially this past week, is that my journey is what it is. I choose how rocky or smooth the path is, and God or my Higher Power is right there beside me the whole time.

I'm feeling confused right now about lots of things. But as a friend of mine says, I'll just "breathe and live in the moment" because it's all any of us really has.
