Physical Pain

There's this saying that Buddha has about living in the present, not dwelling on the past or dreaming of the future.

When I'm in physical pain, I really can't do much of either.  Then I thought, "What if I were in physical pain all the time?  That would certainly force me to live in the present more instead of ruminating about the past and having all the emotions that go with that and worry about the future, and all the emotions that go along with THAT."

I'd still rather be physically healthy all the time and work on how to live in the here and now, in the present, enjoying the present, living in the moment instead of being in physical pain to do so.

And in thinking about that, I'm grateful that even though I'm in physical pain today, I don't have it every day.  I'm grateful because I know people, personally and in general, who DO experience physical pain on a daily even hourly basis.

Today, I'm ok with just "being in the physical pain" because I know it will pass.
